Current Work
Since my return to Austin I have dived back into my exploration of the carved surface, in particular how different glazes and types of firing create new and interesting textures.
I fire my work both in a soda-kiln courtesy of local artist Ryan McKerley and in a gas kiln at Sunset Canyon Pottery.

Commissions
From custom mugs to wedding favors, when I have the time I love to work on commissions! It is an exciting process to turn someone’s ideas into something solid they can hold in their hands, as well as an opportunity to challenge myself and push my own boundaries.

Lake Tahoe Line
When I moved to South Lake Tahoe, CA in 2012, one of the more difficult changes to my life was no longer having access to a soda-fired kiln. In the long run it was good for my artistic growth as I began to dive deeper into the painted surface.

Work 2009-2012
After graduating from college my work became very focused on the carved surface and geometric patterns and design. My ready access to a soda-kiln helped me to fall in love with the surface of my pots and the way the atmospheric firings brought texture into focus.

Undergraduate Work
My undergraduate work married my background in traditional 2D art to my newfound love of ceramics. My subjects were primarily focused on issues with animals- in particular the genetic issues and disorders suffered by many purebred dog breeds.
